Kezia Whakamoe
I creatively articulate and transform intergenerational trauma cycles.
I call on Mātauranga, ātua and tūpuna Māori.
I find ingredients in my whakapapa to make intentional potions.
I use emotional resilience and curiosity to move stuck things.
I have a Masters Degree in Māori Visual Art with Distinction from Toi Āpiti; Massey University. I used this platform to decolonise the academy through the exposure of harmful supremacist behaviours. I used this privilege to decolonise my own expressions of whiteness. I allowed this platform to grow my networks of indigenous genius. Māori are a full expression of indigenous brilliance.
I practice and play in collective and collaborative rōpu, sharing knowledge, making art, creating change.
I live on Ngāti Pārau whenua at Waiohiki Creative, spending alone time in wānanga, dreamspace and whakatā to understand sovereignty on multiple levels.
I am a neurodivergent, takatāpui, indigenous womb holder moving into ruahinetanga.
